From Johannesburg:
Start your trip by getting onto the N12 highway from Johannesburg, heading in the direction of eMalahleni (formerly known as Witbank). If you’re coming from the East Rand or southern parts of Johannesburg, you might start directly on the N12; otherwise, use major connecting roads like the M2 or M1 to join the N12.

Merge onto the N4 highway towards eMalahleni and Mbombela (Nelspruit). You’ll stay on the N4 for a significant portion of the trip, passing through towns like Middelburg and Belfast. This highway is a toll road, so be prepared for several toll gates along the way.

After passing Mbombela (Nelspruit), continue along the N4 until you reach a sign for the R539 Sudwala Caves turnoff, roughly 35 kilometres outside of Nelspruit.

Take the R539 exit towards the Sudwala Caves. Follow the R539 for about 9 kilometres, driving through scenic terrain and keeping an eye out for signs that will guide you to Sudwala Lodge. You’ll spot the Sudwala Lodge entrance on your right, clearly marked and easy to find.

Soon, you’ll be packing the car and taking the scenic route for a blissful holiday at Sudwala Lodge. Before you pack up and head out, please take a moment to find out all you need to know:

  • Kindly note that, while all cell service providers offer signal at the Resort, Vodacom and MTN users may experience limitations.
  • Free Wi-Fi facilities are available at Reception; there is no Wi-Fi accessibility available in the chalets.
  • Chalets are serviced by the Housekeeping Team daily, with the exception of Sundays and Public Holidays. Additional towel and bed linen changes can be arranged at a nominal fee; kindly inform Reception.
  • Le Fera Shop offers essential braai items and a selection of tasty treats; stop by or phone ahead to arrange ice and braai meat hampers.
  • In the interest of safety, and security and ensuring that only confirmed guests are allowed access to the Resort, you will be required to produce a Reservation Confirmation when checking in to the Resort.
